CHILDREN & FAMILIES

Playgroup

Playgroup meets every Tuesday from 9.45 am – 11.15 am for parents/caregivers and children aged 0-5 years old (during school term). It is a time for children and their parents/caregivers to share play experiences and get to know others in the community. We have free play and some structured activities, story and song time, craft and snack time for the children and morning tea for the grown-ups.

mainly music™ meets every Thursday from 9.45 am – 11.15 am for parents/caregivers and children aged 0-5 years old (during school term).

It’s an interactive 30 minute session of music, movement and fun, for under 5’s and their parents, grandparents or carers. This is followed by morning tea for children, then supervised play while adults enjoy community time and morning tea.

Netball Club

The Rosefield Uniting Church Netball Club started from and is still a big part of the community of Rosefield Uniting Church. The Netball Club has a dedicated committee and association structure with over 250 members, with strong ties to our church and community.

There are two competitions held each year; the Winter season which commences early April and concludes late August, and the Summer season which commences mid-October and concludes late March. Teams compete within the SA Uniting Church Netball Association.

CREATIVE

Community Shed

The Rosefield Community Shed encourages men and women of all ages from the local and neighbouring communities to participate in a range of activities in a medium of wood and other materials and giving back to the community.

The Shed provides a welcoming, social and supportive environment for friendship and companionship, reducing possible isolation or depression in the local community.

Join us every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9.30am – 12.30pm. Farmyard Nursery Shed, Adelaide Showgrounds Entrance is via Leader Street gate.

Garden Group

A small group of enthusiasts who enjoy doing garden makeovers, visiting gardens in the community (sometimes further afield) sharing garden tips and enjoying one another’s company. Always includes coffee and cake!

Mahjong Mondays

A small group who meet at the church on Mondays, enjoy the stimulation of the game and one another’s company.

Movie Group

A group of interested members meet on Friday night, once a month, to have dinner together and see a movie. A fun evening of fellowship and sometimes a really good movie.

Women on Wednesdays (WOW) Craft and Quilting group

We gather on Wednesday morning from 9:30 am – 12 pm, creating a variety of crafts –We sometimes join for a group project – mostly, our work is for charity, with the occasional gift made for grandchildren/friends.  All women are welcome. What we make with our hands, we give with our hearts.

                       

COMMUNITY BUILDING

Bible Study and Home Groups

Small groups play an important role in the life of many members at Rosefield and are a special focus during Lent and Advent each year. Other groups meet regularly.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care is an important ministry at Rosefield. A Pastoral Partner is allocated a small group of members, and together with the Minister, they have oversight and care of all members. Emergency meals are also organised through this group.

Saturday Nighters

This is a social gathering which meets bi-monthly in local homes or at Church and includes a shared dinner, time for catch ups and sometimes evenings have a theme.

Cycle Cluster Teams

Anyone can join, Wednesday & Saturday, meet at Rosefield Uniting Church, 7.00am. Fun, chitchat, fitness, & coffee are some cycling benefits. All most welcome.

Thursday Girls

This group meets monthly – they gather for fellowship and care, bringing a small donation which is given to a charity, chosen from time to time.

Women’s Breakfast Group

This group of women meet each month for fellowship, to share stories and learn together – sometimes with a visiting speaker. We mostly meet in one another’s homes.

Men’s Breakfast Group

Once a month the men of the community get together over a casual breakfast for a time of fellowship, discussion on current topical issues, sharing life experiences and to listen to a speaker.

 

Rosefield Men’s Bread Service Team

Bread is collected, sliced and bagged, then delivered to six local Charities twice a week.

Demand is growing, with over 200 loaves and 100’s of Rolls delivered weekly.

Team of 10, project is in it’s 10th year.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Kids Hope

A mentoring program run in conjunction with the Highgate Primary School.

One Church, One School, One Child, One Mentor, One Hour, Once a Week.

Kairos Prison Ministry

The Kairos program is a highly structured program that aims to build Christian communities within prisons. Members of the Rosefield community have actively supported the Kairos program at the Mobilong prison since its introduction there in 2001.

Opportunity International

Rosefield has supported this charity through donations each year since 2006, providing funds for microfinance, enabling many thousands of people out of poverty permanently.
