BAPTISMS, FUNERALS & WEDDINGS

Baptisms

To find out more about Baptism at Rosefield, email us..

At Rosefield Uniting Church, we consider children as a gift and, in particular, a gift from God.

Many parents want to acknowledge the birth and the uniqueness of their child in some way, and we welcome the opportunity to talk with you. It might be your child is a newborn or older; in either case, we love to celebrate their life with you.

One way in which we think of this is through baptism, where together we acknowledge how special your child is to God. In baptism, the church understands that God’s love surrounds your child and, through the sacrament, becomes part of the wider family of God.

In the Uniting Church, baptism always takes place in a worship service as it is considered a celebration of the whole church.

In the service, parents make promises to God and to the child to provide opportunities to grow in faith and to take seriously the call to follow Christ. Often later in life, the child reaffirms these promises for themselves and commits to following Christ.

Another option to celebrate a birth is to have a prayer of thanksgiving for the arrival of their child in a worship service. Again we see this as an opportunity to celebrate the gift of life.

Either the baptism or thanksgiving prayer can take place in our morning services.

The life of your child is precious, and we welcome the opportunity to talk with you about how we might celebrate the gift of your child.

Funerals

From time to time an opportunity arises for this church to be the venue for a funeral. It may be for someone who had a connection to this church many years ago or members of the wider community. These are opportunities for not just the minister, but also the community to witness and showcase our hospitality.

Weddings

Thank you for considering Rosefield Uniting Church as the venue for your forthcoming Wedding. We would be pleased to assist you in making the day very special and memorable.

(You may arrange another Minister if you wish)

Should you wish to have your own Minister conduct the Service, it is requested that he/she contact the Rosefield Minister, and that the Rosefield Marriage register must be used.

* Flowers  to be supplied by Wedding Party.

A Wedding Booking form is forwarded to you once a tentative booking has been made, on which you can indicate whether you need to utilize any of the above options. We require the Booking Fee to be paid as soon as you wish the booking to be confirmed. It is usual for the other charges to be paid either at the rehearsal or on the day of the wedding, however if this is inconvenient, payment can be sent during the following week.

VENUE HIRE

Our facilities are available for hire from time to time. Bookings can be made through the Church Office – charges are available on request.

SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteer Positions Vacant

The activities and ministries of the church are administered by a large number of volunteers, each of whom give of their skills and resources as part of their worship to God and to serve their community.

There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work
